Rylan Clark pulls out of Radio 2 show as he tells fans he's bedridden with flu

Rylan Clark will not be presenting his Radio 2 show tomorrow after being left bedridden with the flu.

The 33-year-old presenter, who shot to fame on The X Factor in 2012, usually fronts Rylan On Saturday every week from 3 to 6pm.

However he has confirmed he will not be running the show tomorrow and Gary Davies will fill in for him instead.

Taking to Twitter today, Rylan updated his 1.6million followers with what has happened and how he is feeling.

"Gone and got the flu (not surprised) been in bed for a couple of days," he wrote.

The TV star continued: "Have lat tested and not Covid thankfully but won’t be able to go on the wireless tomorrow. Be back soon x."

It comes after he admitted that he cares too much about what people think of him on Alan Carr's Life’s A Beach podcast.

Rylan opened up about his fears over his public appearance and 'boozy antics' during their chat.

The TV presenter said he worries that some may see him as an a**ehole following his rapid rise to fame and fortune.

During the candid interview with Chatty Man Alan, the bubbly TV presenter said: "I am not a complainer.

"I get embarrassed if I complain. If I go to a restaurant and it's s**t I say let's just pay it and go.

"I think that's because of my job. I'm so worried, so if I say "This is disgusting", they'll say "That Rylan was an a**ehole"'.

Rylan said that although he's now a huge celebrity, he doesn't ever want to get too big for his boots - and so, he hates complaining due to fears people will think he already has.

He went on: "I just go with the flow. I can't complain and I get embarrassed if I'm with someone and they moan.

"If I've spent a bit of money on a villa or something and it was running alive with cockroaches I'd say find me somewhere else that's different."

Rylan's confession about his fears of being misunderstood by the public comes after the star revealed that he has never felt the need to take drugs.

During an episode of his Ry-union podcast, with celebrity guest Davina McCall, Rylan made the admission.

“I’ve never been in that place where I feel that I need to do something like that," he revealed.

“I was in a boyband in Ibiza, so you can imagine the world that I was in living out there, [but] I never felt the need to do that. I’m a control freak.

“The thought of not being in control of something, even when I’ve had a drink. Lately I’ve gone out a few times and drunk more than I usually would, I’m quite honest about it.”
