Rylan Clark forced to say 'that's me' as fans speculate over topless pool clip after plans to leave UK announced

Rylan Clark appeared to have to confirm it was him in his latest social media post as he put on a cool, topless display. Fans were quick to wonder whether the TV and radio star was auditioning to be the next James Bond as the video showed him emerging from a crystal clear pool.

He has his back to the camera but those watching could see Rylan slicking back his trademark dark locks that had been submerged in the water under the burning sun in Greece. The 35-year-old hasn't just been living it up in Southeast Europe but has also been hard at work on a new TV show

Rylan, who stepped down from his presenting duties on Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two earlier this year, is set to host a brand new Prime Video show, which will follow a group of partying Brits as they live together and try to run a bar in Zante.

The reason for his trip was seemingly confirmed by talent agent Martha Durham last week who posted a picture of Rylan to her Instagram Story, which he then shared, saying: "Wrapped for the day. New @rylan @rpimevideo show coming soon." But while Rylan hasn't confirmed his next gig himself, he didn't mind sharing some glamourous snaps from his trip.

Back to the video and posting it to both Instagram and Twitter, Rylan wrote: "Coming soon…" But as the comments came flooding in, it appears Rylan needed to clarify something as he replied to his own tweet: "That’s me btw ffs."

As some assumed it was a mystery partner, the majority of Rylan's fans and followers thought it was another kind of reveal. @claire_brabin said: "Are you channelling Daniel Craig there? You’re not the next James Bond are you?? #rumbled." @ebarmby wrote: "Looks like you’re auditioning to be the new James Bond here @rylan."

@deb65willow replied: "Exciting. Are you the new James Bond?" @tophamt echoed: "You’re the new James Bond???" @TweetMeRyan added: "New James Bond."

Meanwhile, Rylan's trip to Greece isn't the end of his travels as it has been confirmed that the Essex-born star is set to leave the country again. The presenter is set to star in a new BBC travel show which will see him and Rob Rinder explore the art and culture Italy has to offer.

The three-part BBC Two series will see the TV personalities follow in the footsteps of the romantic poet Lord Byron and English aristocrats who took on the Grand Tour, a classic trip through Europe popular in the 18th and 19th centuries. With a working title of Rob And Rylan’s Grand Tour, the series will see them visit artistic treasures in Venice, Florence and Rome.

Starting their journey in Venice, the pair will explore artistic masterpieces of the city from Tintoretto to Canaletto as well as discover how gay men in the 18th century found freedom at the city’s famous Carnival. Rylan and Rob will also try to learn Venetian painting techniques and glass blowing while in Florence, they will delve into the Renaissance artistic period including classic pieces like Botticelli’s Venus.

Their last stop will be in Rome, where they will explore the classical ruins, recreate Baroque masterpieces and channel their inner operatic divas at a rooftop performance. They will also be marking the 200th anniversary of Byron’s death by referring to the poet’s poems and letters about his Grand Tour alongside the diaries of others who made the trip.

Along the journey, the duo will be learning what it was to be a Grand Tourist, trying flamboyant Italian looks, fencing, dancing and romancing.
