Rylan Clark fan cleverly unearths his secret Westlife past before X Factor stardom

Rylan Clark's X Factor audition will go down as one of the most memorable of the show's 17-year history.

But before he made it big on Simon Cowell's iconic ITV talent show, Rylan sang his heart out in a Westlife tribute band.

The 33-year-old TV presenter even treated audiences to a "little Irish jig" during live gigs.

After a curious listener to his Radio 2 show on asked if it was Rylan who had been in the group and sat on the caller's lap during a visit to Ibiza, the bubbly star revealed all about his time in the Westlife tribute band before he found fame on the X Factor.

The host admitted: "That was me that assaulted you in 2009.

"If you saw the Westlife show, I'd have sat on your knee during Mandy or You Raise Me Up, because I did a little Irish jig halfway through when I went out into the audience."

Rylan's past tribute band confession comes after the Celebrity Big Brother winner called for the axed reality TV show to make a comeback.

The self-confessed super fan exclusively revealed to The Mirror that he would also be up for hosting the "biggest and best" reality TV show once again.

"One million per cent," the popular broadcaster said when asked whether he would like to present a new series of Big Brother after it was axed in 2018.

"Big Brother was like a child to me - doing Big Brother's Bit on the Side every night became like a lifestyle rather than a job.

"Big Brother changed my life completely - a proper 360 - and I miss it dearly and I just think if it was to come back now, it could come back the same but so different now."

Alongside being a part of the Big Brother presenting team, Rylan is also a famous former housemate - winning the star-studded 2013 edition of the ultimate reality TV series.

It comes as Rylan is excited for what 2022 is set to bring after he endured a heart-breaking 2021 following the breakdown of his marriage to estranged husband, Dan Neal.

The 33-year-old TV presenter took to Twitter on New Years Eve to bid a delightful farewell to the past twelve months as he looked towards a much happier and prosperous 2022.

Alongside a hilarious meme of a man taking "the trash out", Rylan wrote: "2021, off you go dear".
