Rylan Clark breaks silence on Big Brother's return and if he'll host the ITV reboot

Rylan Clark has spoken out about the return of Big Brother, admitting he has "not been asked to host the show".

The TV presenter, 33, said it was still "early days" and added he is "made up" the iconic series is making a comeback, after watching the trailer drop during the Love Island final on ITV2 on Monday night.

Rylan took to Twitter to reveal he has yet to be contacted about being involved after he shared the announcement of Big Brother's comeback.

He said: "Should clarify. I’ve not been asked to host the show.

"As a fan, like always, I’m made up it’s coming back. I know how hard you/we all fought to keep that name alive and I’m so glad it paid off in the end.

"The OG reality is back. It’s the news we wanted. Welcome back bro."

The former X Factor star said he is hoping to see "normal housemates" from all walks of life, live evictions and no outside contact.

Rylan is also hoping for public votes and for there to be "some form of live feed".

He tweeted: "So we will see… v early days Re team / host etc. Regardless we wanted it back and it came back." (sic).

Rylan shared a picture of the iconic Big Brother eye during Monday night's Love Island final. He captioned the post: "He was always watching… It’s coming home."

Some fans were left disappointed after Rylan admitted he hasn't been asked to present the show, as many are keen for the Big Brother alum to front the new series.

One person said: "If @itv2 don’t ask @ThisisDavina @Rylan or @EmmaWillis to be a part of this then honestly they are seriously underestimating how important all three are to the show."

Another wrote: "It’s not gonna be Big Bro without you & Emma !"

The comeback was announced on Monday (ITV)

A third fan commented: "You should be the host , someone who genuinely loved the show and connects back to the original format when I guess you just watched it as a kid."

Big Brother was originally broadcast on Channel 4 from 2000 to 2010, before moving to Channel 5. It has been on a five year hiatus after it ended back in 2018.

Rylan, who was a contestant on the celebrity spin-off of the show, went on to present Big Brother's Bit on the Side after he won in 2013.
