Ryanair says James Corden is banned from their aircraft after star's outburst at New York restaurant

Budget airline Ryanair has said that TV personality James Corden is banned from flying with them after he came under fire over an alleged outburst in a New York restaurant.

Social media was sent into a frenzy after it emerged that top New York restaurant Balthazar had banned James Corden from their venue after the star yelled “like crazy” at staff over an omelette.

The Irish airline decided to get in on the jokes made about the star by tweeting that he was not welcome on their flights.

Accompanied by a picture of Corden with a big red cross through his face, the official Ryanair account said: “James Corden BANNED from Ryanair.”

Twitter users were sent into a frenzy when they saw the post, which now has over 90K likes, 782 quote tweets and 3,630 retweets.

One user joked back to the airline: “That’s two extra seats you can sell.”

Another person jokingly offered up a quote for their marketing team: “‘Fly Ryanair; the only airline that guarantees you won't have to sit next to James Corden’. Use this one for free, next marketing lines will cost.”

“He would definitely take the window seat when it’s not his,” a third said.

It comes as the Gavin and Stacey writer was accused of treating staff poorly by the owner of a top restaurant.

Corden was called a "gifted comedian" but a "cretin of a man" in a furious Instagram post, shared by restauranteur Keith McNally, who owns the Balthazar chain.

Keith, 71, shared two separate reports from managers of his French brasserie Balthazar eateries – where one claimed he was "extremely nasty" to one waiter and "demanded" a round of drinks after finding hair in his food.

Keith McNally later posted on Instagram: “James Corden just called me and apologized profusely. Having f****d up myself more than most people, I strongly believe in second chances.

“So, if James Corden lets me host his Late Late Show for 9 months, I’ll immediately rescind his ban from Balthazar. No, of course not.

“But....anyone magnanimous enough to apologize to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned from anywhere. Especially Balthazar. So Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Corden, Jimmy Corden. All is Forgiven. xx”
