Holidaymakers set to go abroad with airline Ryanair have been warned of a £55 fine if they arrive at the airport without having checked in online.
Passengers who are going on holiday this summer are advised to check their airline's check-in requirements to avoid unexpected fines at the airport. Anyone travelling with Ryanair can use their online check-in 60 days before the scheduled departure time if they have purchased an allocated seat.
Seats free of charge are allocated between 24 hours and two hours before each flight. It is not possible to check-in online once this window has passed which means you will have to use one of the desks at the airport.

In doing so, you could risk a fine. Customers who have not checked in online could be charged £/€55 (for flights from Spain €/£30) per passenger, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Passengers are also advised to print copies of their boarding passes or to download them to their phone via the Ryanair app. If you do not have a physical or digital copy of your boarding pass, you will be charged for the boarding pass reissue fee, which is £/€20 per passenger.
It's also important to note some airports do not accept Ryanair's mobile boarding passes. These are:
- Kefalonia
- Turkey
- Morocco
- Israel
- Lebanon
Customers traveling from these airports must check in online and print out a paper boarding pass for their flight(s). If you require more information on travelling with Ryanair, you can visit their website here.
