Ryanair has issued an apology to a family left stranded in France who were sent in correct flight times.
Tia Watson, 24, from Kimberley, had flown out to Fuerteventura on Monday, February 14, and was due to return on Friday, February 18, in the wake of Storm Eunice.
However, the landing was aborted near Manchester Airport as it was deemed unsafe - so passengers got diverted to Bordeaux in the south of France, the family said.
Ms Watson, who is 23-weeks pregnant, explained she, her partner Martin Beard and their four-year-old daughter were then at the airport for two to three hours before being put in a hotel.
The family were expecting to board a flight at 7.20pm the following day, but went for breakfast at their hotel to find everybody from their flight had left the hotel.
They later discovered that they had boarded a 10am flight, but were assured that their flight for 7.20pm was still going ahead.
This was not the case.
Ryanair has said that an incorrect flight time was communicated to a small number of passengers who were meant to be on an earlier plane back to England.
They have since apologised for their part in the ordeal.
A sposkesperson for the airline said: “Due to Storm Eunice, this flight from Fuerteventura to Manchester (18 Feb) diverted to Bordeaux.
"Overnight accommodation was provided for all affected customers and a new flight was scheduled for the following morning (19 th Feb) from Bordeaux to Manchester.
"The details of this flight were communicated to passengers at the airport, however an email with an incorrect flight time was subsequently communicated and a small number of passengers missed this flight.
"Affected passengers were provided with an extra night’s accommodation in Bordeaux and a new flight was arranged for these passengers, who departed for Manchester on Sunday, 20 th Feb. Ryanair sincerely apologises to those affected.”
