A Ryanair flight has been forced to make an unplanned landing in France after passengers began "smelling burning". The flight, from Newcastle Airport, was bound for Palma de Mallorca Airport.
Flight FR2347 departed Tyneside at around 8.50am on Tuesday and was flying near Toulouse when it is understood passengers began to smell burning on board. Terrified passengers reported hearing that there had been a problem with the engine.
The flight had to be grounded at Toulouse-Blagnac Airport in France. It was met on the tarmac by multiple fire engines.

Passengers had been told to remain seated on board while investigations took place, with some reporting that they were not even permitted to use the toilet. However, it is understood that those rules were eventually relaxed, ChronicleLive reports.
The flight had been due to touch down in Majorca at approximately 12.35pm, but flight trackers are showing that it landed 30 minutes early.
A spokeswoman from Ryanair confirmed that there had been a "minor technical issue" with the aircraft. They said: "This flight from Newcastle to Palma (16 Aug) diverted to Toulouse due to a minor technical issue with the aircraft.
"To minimise disruption to passengers, we have arranged for an alternative aircraft to bring them to Palma later today. Affected passengers have been notified and provided with refreshment vouchers. Ryanair sincerely apologises to all affected passengers."
