Ryanair, easyJet and British Airways July strike dates as industrial action confirmed

Impending strikes at popular airlines may impact holidays for Scots this month, with dates being confirmed.

Staff at Ryanair and easyJet have confirmed that they will stage industrial action in July following pay disputes. British Airways workers at Heathrow have also voted to strike, after the carrier did not repeal a 10% pay cut that was put in place over the pandemic.

Thousands of holidaymakers across Scotland and the UK are set to be affected by the strikes, with easyJet cabin crew in Spain confirming that they will take industrial action for a total of nine days this month. Ryanair workers have also planned a three-day strike in Spain.

It follows the news that airports across the UK have struggled to meet demand amid recurring staff shortages. This has lead to major delays and queues, and even cancellation.

As reported by WalesOnline, here is a full rundown of the Ryanair, easyJet, and British Airways strike dates in July.

EasyJet strike dates in July

  • Employees in Spain will strike in three separate phases throughout the month: from July 1 to July 3, from July 15 to July 17, and from July 29 to July 31
  • The three batches of three-day strikes will see hundreds of workers stage walk-outs in Barcelona, Málaga and Palma.
  • Employees who are with the Spanish USO union are seeking a 40% pay increase in low-paid cabin staff’s basic wage.

Ryanair strike dates for July

  • Ryanair's industrial action began on June 30 and will run through to July 2.
  • It will affect flights at 10 locations across Spain: Madrid, Malaga, Barcelona, Alicante, Sevilla, Palma, Valencia, Girona, Santiago de Compostela and Ibiza.
  • Ryanair has said that it did not foresee major disruption and claimed that the majority of crew members would not support the strike.

British Airways strike dates

  • Hundreds of British Airways workers at Heathrow Airport have voted to strike sometime this summer following a pay dispute
  • While a date has not yet been confirmed, it will likely be at some point during the peak summer season, with some reports stating that it could be as soon as July 8.
  • Hundreds of British Airways staff at Heathrow have voted to strike over pay before the end of the summer.

  • Up to 700 staff members could walk out after both GMB and Unite members backed industrial action.
