Ryanair has temporarily cancelled its route to Zaventem Airport in Brussels. The budget airline made the decision due to high fuel costs and flight tax.
The low-cost airline carrier will not operate flights to Zaventem until at least March 2023. It comes as Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary said the winter would be “extremely challenging”.
Instead Ryanair Brussels flights will be moved to Charleroi Airport or other neighbouring countries, The Express reports. Commenting on the situation, O’Leary said: “This winter is going to be extremely challenging, with higher fuel costs, so an increase in airport charges like in Zaventem is not sustainable.”
