Holidaymakers in Nottinghamshire who are considering options for the summer now have a new destination to choose from in France.
Ryanair has just announced that it will start flying to Marseille from East Midlands Airport on its summer 2022 schedule.
The budget airline recommends travellers book early as it is launching a seat sale for all new routes with fares available from just £19.99 one way for travel until October 2022. These must be booked by Sunday March 13.
Marseille's official tourism website describes the port city as having 300 days of sunshine a year, 2,600 years of history, Europe’s first peri-urban natural park, 111 villages and at least as many different identities.
"Chosen as one of the must-see European cities, Marseille- the beautiful, the incandescent, and the scandalous - is opening up to the world," it says.
Alongside the East Midlands to Marseille route Ryanair also announced it will start flying between Manchester and Abruzzo.
The main airlines flying out of East Midlands Airport are TUI, Jet2 and Ryanair but there are a number of smaller companies that operate out of the base, too.
