Ryan Tubridy has teased this year’s Late Late Toy Show is the ‘the best he has ever seen’ as rehearsals take place behind the scenes.
The countdown is on and the big night is just days away, with host Tubridy and the crew involved in full swing of final preparations this week.
Teasing what to expect, the RTE presenter, 49, said: “We had a little rehearsal for the Toy Show, and I would argue that it's among the best I've ever seen.

“Not so much what I've been doing... but two things in particular, or three, well loads more. The set is beautiful. The design and craftsmanship that's gone into it is stunning.
Praising the arts and crafts team for their months of hard work in preparation for the annual TV show, he went on: “And then, the costumes that have been made by my friends and colleagues in the costume department over months.
“When I go down to visit them on a Friday to collect my suit or what have you, I just hear the sewing machines like trains coming down the track. Working and working.
"And what they have created is something beautiful. I saw these kids yesterday and there's comedy and colour and it's just so vibrant. And I got very excited,” he said.
Speaking on his RTE Radio 1 morning show on Tuesday, before he set off to make some school visits later on in the day, he added: “We have a very special day today, we are going to be making two, what I think will be two beautiful visits, that encapsulates the whole point of the Toy Show week, let alone Toy Show night.
"Two very gorgeous things are going to happen, which is great.”
The presenter revealed he will be taking some well deserved days off next week to relax after the highly anticipated show, after feeling the wrath of it last year when he returned to the airwaves too quickly.
He said: “I am taking a couple of days off post Toy Show. I made the terrible mistake last year not to do that and I was banjaxed for a month. So that’s what I'm doing.”
It comes as Tubridy said he is gearing up to act like a “goofball” on the night.
But the host warned he will be keeping in mind the cost-of-living crisis many families are facing this Christmas.
The Late Late Toy Show airs this Friday at 9.35pm on RTE One and the RTE Player.
