Ryan Seacrest "can't believe" he is nearly 50.
The 'American Idol' host will reach the milestone age on Christmas Eve, and is doing "everything" in his power to try to avoid feeling his age in the build-up to his birthday.
He told 'Entertainment Tonight': "I feel good because I can't believe I'm turning 50. I'm doing everything I can to make myself feel like I'm not 50."
Ryan has thrown himself into a routine of healthy diet and exercise
He said: "I'm over-exercising, eating better, over-training, lots of muscle recovery, cold plunging, steaming. Anything to make myself feel 29 again! But I guess I'm excited. Talk to me on the 25th, the day after I turn 50. Although, the 25th will be fine. Talk to me on the 26th!"
The former 'Live' presenter was speaking in a chat with his sister Meredith Seacrest, who recalled their childhood and noted it could seem inevitable that Ryan would go down the path of television stardom.
She said: "Well, you were making tapes for our road trips and you'd do the countdown so you'd count down the hits and put in the tape.
"So you were definitely doing that early and then you'd host shows in the house all the time and you were behind the video camera and I'd be the performer, so it was in you."
Ryan is also known as a producer and helped propel the Kardashian family to global stardom with their reality series 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' but doesn't think a project of that ilk about his own family would be too interesting.
He said: "I don't think that we would have such an interesting family docuseries because there's not many of us. And I have definitely seen, from the inside, the most entertaining family for reality docuseries on the planet. It's hard to top that one so I think we should pass."
