Ryan Ruocco thinks Cameron Brink and Angel Reese deserve more credit for filling WNBA arenas

Two WNBA rookies, Cameron Brink and Angel Reese, are slowly approaching elite popularity levels, and ESPN’s Ryan Ruocco explained why more and more of their games are selling out.

Over the last several weeks, Cameron and Angel have skyrocketed in popularity. From their spectacular pregame outfits to their heavy social media presence, it’s impossible to miss their rise. But it isn’t all happening off the court.

Brink is in the top two in the WNBA in blocks, and Reese is in the top 10 in rebounds. During a recent call with ESPN and the WNBA, Ryan Ruocco explained why he thinks so many people are now in on Angel and Cameron. Here’s what he shared:

“What I think is so significant is they’re delivering on the floor. When you watch the way Angel has played thus far, she has been excellent out of the gates as a rookie…”

“And then with Cameron, she obviously had pro-ready skillset, and I think it’s so encouraging to see that already translating…she has just looked like ‘yeah, she’s obviously going to be an impactful pro…'”

“I just think the returns on and off the floor for Angel and Cameron have been terrific, and you know, there’s a reason why those arenas are filled, why Chicago road games — they’re having to find bigger venues as well to accommodate the following for Angel Reese — and so, yeah, both those women deserve a ton of credit.”
