Ryan Reynolds interrupts Ben Foster interview after Wrexham seal promotion

Ryan Reynolds joked that even Hollywood actors fall on hard times as he interrupted Ben Foster's post-match interview to get his Wrexham shirt.

Foster was speaking after the Welsh club secured promotion back to the EFL after 15 years in the National League. Following Notts County's 5-2 win earlier in the day at Maidstone United, Phil Parkinson's side knew they needed three points to guarantee a return to League Two.

However, the visitors harbour hopes of promotion themselves and they took the lead after less than a minute thanks to Lee Ndlovu. Wrexham regrouped and were level on 15 minutes through Elliot Lee.

Sensing their chance to seal a long awaited return, Wrexham pushed on after the restart with Paul Mullin grabbing a brace to secure the all important victory. After the players had received the title on the pitch, ex-Manchester United man Foster and Lee headed inside to conduct their media duties.

While the striker answered a question about Wrexham's chances in the fourth tier next season, Foster's attention was grabbed by Reynolds who had entered the media room. "Foster, Foster, jersey now," the 46-year-old demanded.

With a laugh, the former Premier League goalkeeper replied as he handed it over: "It stinks by the way, absolutely stinks." Reynolds then turned his attention to Lee.

"Are you wearing an undershirt?" He asked and when Lee said yes, Reynolds asked for his shirt too. When quizzed by a journalist as to whether the shirts would be going on eBay, Wrexham's co-owner joked: "Listen, I work in showbusiness, we fall on hard times."

Foster joined Wrexham in March after their first-choice goalkeeper suffered a season-ending injury. The 40-year-old is contracted to the club until the end of the season.
