Ryan Reynolds forked out £40,000 on vintage whisky for jubilant Wrexham fans to enjoy after the club's promotion back to the Football League.
The Welsh side spectacularly ended their 15-year absence from English football's fourth tier with one game to spare after beating Boreham Wood 3-1 on Saturday, clinching the National League title in the process. Canadian actor Reynolds, who became co-owner alongside Hollywood star Rob McElhenney in February 2021, was present at the Racecourse Ground to celebrate with fans.
Once the party moved to the stadium's nearby pub, The Turf, supporters were treated to a special treat courtesy of the 46-year-old. At an eye-watering £1,000 a pop, Reynolds had left 40 bottles of whisky behind the bar for supporters to enjoy.
A source told The Sun that the Deadpool actor, who owns a stake in Aviation American Gin, had invited fans to sample his booze last week. They were then delighted when the vintage whisky was theirs to guzzle all night long on Saturday - and even finish off on Sunday morning, the source added.
"Everything I own smells like champagne, beer and grass," Reynolds hilariously tweeted on 6:38am on Sunday morning, perhaps less hungover than some fans, as he was accompanied at the match by Hollywood pals Paul Rudd and Joe Russo. It's also emerged that McElhenney, 46, even had a stint behind the bar at The Turf in order to let staff have a well-deserved break.
Wrexham executive director Humphrey Ker, who's also an actor, revealed that Wrexham's players also had a night to remember, as they up in McDonald's at 2am. "I was a bit of a lightweight and a bit overwhelmed, so I snuck off quite early," Ker told TalkSPORT.

"But the footage of our players in the McDonald's on the high street at 2am is starting to trickle in. We're starting to build a picture like detectives of what they got up to on the night in question, and it looks like they and the town made the most of it!"
Now set to compete in League Two next season, can the Red Dragons go on and do it again? "We feel that the sky's the limit for Wrexham," Ker is quoted as saying by the Wrexham Leader. "You look at the crowds we had in the stadium all season, the crowds that were outside the stadium (on Saturday), people couldn't get a ticket.
"They just wanted to be in town, close to the stadium, close to the action. The last time I checked our full-time announcement (video) had 15 million views on Twitter. The interest in this club is astronomical and we believe with the squad we have right now we have a very strong chance of going up again next year.
"It gets more challenging further up the pyramid we go, but we have real faith and confidence in the people we have got in the football club to take us in the right direction. We want to do this again. We want to be having these parties next year and as many summers after that as we can possibly manage."
