Alex Rae believes that Ryan Kent will step up to the mark for Rangers when he takes on former club Liverpool this week.
The winger received criticism at the start of this season for his lack of goal involvement, scoring once and assisting four times across 13 matches. He was stifled in last week's 2-0 Champions League loss at Anfield and his selection in the XI for the Group A return leg at Ibrox is in jeopardy after Fashion Sakala impressively showed him up in a 4-0 win against St Mirren.
Despite it not all going his way this season so far, Rangers hero Alex Rae reckons Kent will stand up and be counted when Jurgen Klopp's men - who sold him to the Light Blues - roll into Glasgow. Alfredo Morelos is also tipped to start ahead of Antonio Colak in attack, Rae telling BoyleSports: "Ryan Kent was rested at the weekend so I'd imagine he'll have a big involvement in the game against Liverpool.
"This could be a great time for him to put out a statement performance. You've also got Colak who's in form and Morelos' physicality to come off the bench.
"If fully fit, you'd start Alfredo Morelos because his record in Europe last season was brilliant but he's not fully up to speed yet.
"One thing's for sure, the Ibrox atmosphere is always intimidating."
