Nigel Spackman hopes the real Ryan Kent turns up at Ibrox on Thursday.
Rangers face Braga at Ibrox in a crunch Europa League quarter final second leg looking to overturn a single goal first leg deficit.
And Spackman believes Kent - the star man against Borussia Dortmund - needs to step up to the plate when it matters with a big performance after being hit and miss in Portugal last week.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst 's men are set to bounce off a packed home support- with a semi final against Atalanta or RB Leipzig, who played out a draw in their first leg, up for grabs.
Spackman told talkSPORT: "They've got to keep it tight defensively and can't afford to give a goal away.
"You just hope the bigger players like [Ryan] Kent turn up and you go 'well who is going to score the goals?'.
"Can Kent do something special? He's got to get it right. Roofe played extremely well so maybe it's his chance to do something special.
"I still fancy Rangers to get through with the home support."
Kent scored a huge winning goal against the same opponents in last season's competition and has started to show why Rangers forked out £7 million for the winger in 2019.
