Michael Beale believes he is the ideal man to manage Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos as he delivered a 'value for money' verdict.
The key Rangers pair are out of contract in the summer and are free to discuss pre-contact moves away from the club in a matter of weeks when the January transfer window opens. Both have previously worked under the new manager while he was No2 to Steven Gerrard and enjoyed some of their best moments form wise during his previous stint at Ibrox. Speaking recently at the club AGM chairman Douglas Park said of the duo: "The board tried to negotiate and sometimes if the terms are unattainable you have to accept you have done your best."
However, Beale is optimistic that the club and players can meet 'somewhere in the middle' as he retains hope of keeping the pair in Govan. But in the short-term he believes the most important thing is to get both back to their very best form. He said: "With every player, he’s got to be value for money, hasn’t he? I think the most important thing at the minute is the two boys get on doing what they do best — and that’s playing football.

“I believe I’m the ideal person to manage both players because of the previous relationship and having seen them at their best for Rangers.
“They can get that back very quickly, so let’s take another review in the coming days.
“But I’m really optimistic they can go and prove they should be here.
“In terms of finances, they have obviously got very good agents. We’re very strong on our side and we’ll probably meet somewhere in the middle.
“The management has changed as well and with a management change you don’t know if the players are going to be more happy or less happy and the time for us to assess that is probably in the January window when we have five or six or seven games out of the way.
“Certainly players only want to be at clubs that are moving forward. And coaches only want players that are moving forward as well. At the moment, with me coming in all of that is a little bit up in the air so I don’t think right now is the moment to be discussing it.
“In five or six games’ time when we are sat discussing it we will either be in good health or bad health and those two players’ situation may follow that as well.”
