Ryan Kent & Alfredo Morelos Rangers replacements plea as Connor Goldson calls for action

Connor Goldson says Rangers need to be identifying replacements for Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent NOW.

The Colombian striker and the English winger are the two high profile Ibrox stars out of contract in the summer and there has been no hard news coming out of Ibrox about them agreeing to stay.

Kent did make some positive comments after Rangers’ win at Kilmarnock and Michael Beale has spoken about his tight relationship with both players.

But Goldson, who let his contract run down last year and then committed to another four years, says the powers that be must be sourcing new stars to take their places.

He said: "Listen, would I love them to stay? Yes. But they have to make their own decision for their careers.

"I didn’t really want anyone speaking to me about it. It was my decision to make with my wife and my family.

"It’s their decision. Listen they are good players and if they want to stay we will be really happy to have them here.

"But if they don’t then Rangers Football Club has to move on and move on quickly to get new players who are ready to win because that’s what we are here for."

Goldson, who was linked with Nottingham Forest and West Brom last year, made the decision to stay when he realised he would be not be able to cope playing for a side that struggles.

He didn’t name him but he could have been referencing Joe Aribo when he said: "You look at the people who have left the club – are they happy?

“You get used to winning. I don’t think I could now play for a game that wins once every three, four or five games.”
