Ryan Jack major Rangers contract clue from Michael Beale with 'sets the standard' statement

Michael Beale has offered a major hint Ryan Jack will be offered a new deal at Rangers as he hailed the summer transfer window as 'significant'.

The Light Blues star - who was one of the standout performers in the big win over Hibs at Easter Road midweek - is out of contract in the summer alongside the likes of Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos, Steven Davis and Scott Arfield.

But his Rangers boss has hailed the midfielder as the man who 'sets the standard' for his side and is a player he wants to work with moving forward. Speaking about the future of the Scotland international, Beale stated: “A fit Ryan Jack is an excellent player and he was fantastic in midweek. I have to manage him at times to make sure he’s available and fit. He doesn’t like that.

“He wants to play every week and sets the standard for us. Ryan is certainly a player I want to work with moving forward.”

It's set to be a big summer in terms of ins and outs at Rangers with Beale stating he 'must cut the cord from the past' as he bids to transform the Ibrox side.

He started that process with the January additions of Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin. With a high number of players with expiring deals in the coming months, there is set to be a large turnover with the summer earmarked as a very important window.

Beale added: “It’s important we build a strong club and don’t live in the past. I’ve said all along there will be a 25 per-cent turnover naturally.

“Then if we decide to sell one or two, we’ll replace like for like in terms of position. I don’t want to put a number on it but this is a significant summer.

“Everyone can see that, in terms of reducing the squad size and upscaling in quality.

"We must cut the cord from the past. There have been deja vu moments in the last few weeks, some issues and meetings we had before at the same stage when we were building.

“We’re moving in a different direction in the way we’re playing. We’re moving in a different direction recruiting new players into it."
