Ryan Jack in Rangers return as Ibrox men without Fashion Sakala and Antonio Colak for St Mirren

Giovanni van Bronckhost has revealed Ryan Jack is back and available for selection ahead of Rangers' trip to face St Mirren but Fashion Sakala and Antonio Colak will miss out.

The heat is on the Dutchman after a string of poor results and performances. Recent dropped home points against Livingston and defeat at St Johnstone has left the Light Blues trailing Old Firm and title rivals Celtic by seven points at the Premiership summit. Fan anger has been mounting with the travelling support confronting James Tavernier and his team-mates in Perth after the 2-1 loss last weekend.

Malik Tillman took some of the heat off his boss and Rangers pals with the only goal of the game to pick up a vital victory over Hearts during the week. Now it is a trip to St Mirren with all eyes on a big three points to go into the World Cup shutdown on a high. The good news on the injury front is the return of Jack with a number of key players set to return to the fold after the finals in Qatar.

Speaking to the media, the Rangers boss said: "It's been a busy period for everyone involved in football at the moment. You are seeing a lot of teams at the highest level struggling with injuries and the packed schedule ahead of the World Cup.

"We want to have a bigger squad to select from when we return after the break with players from injury returning. Ryan Jack will be involved in the squad tomorrow, it should also be beneficial for him to get minutes with Scotland.

"Fashion Jr is unavailable with a minor muscle injury. [Antonio] Colak has a minor injury and will miss tomorrow, he will be fine for us coming back from the break.

"It's very important to get the win tomorrow ahead of the break. We need to get the three points.

"There were positives, especially at the start of the second-half against Hearts. We scored a great goal and created some great chances after this, it's important we are more clinical.

It's very important for us to have support from midfield in the box, we want everyone in the squad to be dangerous in front of goal.

"Against a low block and a team that plays very direct with fast dangerous strikers, we have to be fully focused throughout the 90 minutes to get a positive result."
