Ryan Gosling didn’t quite know how to react when he took a bite from a Greggs sausage roll for the first time in a hilarious taste test.
The Place Beyond the Pines actor, who originally hails from Canada, was firmly put to the test when he was asked to compare some staple snacks from his home country and the UK.
Gosling appeared thrilled to take up the challenge for LadbibleTV, named Snack Wars, which saw him snacking on Monster Munch and a Freddo bar as well as the famous sausage roll.
When he lifted the dish to unveil the Greggs snack, he initially didn’t even know what it was.
“What’s that?” Gosling quizzed, pointing at the Greggs paper bag before the producer explained what he was looking at.
He then curiously examined the flaky pastry, adding “I feel like I’m on The Great British Bake Off.”
After noticing that the snack included sausage meat, he added: “Woah, Is that sausage? It’s like a fancy hot dog. Like a hot dog in a tuxedo.”
“I see what you’re doing, just classing up the joint,” Gosling continued as the producers giggled in the background.
The Notebook star initially looked impressed after taking a bite out of the sausage roll, however, it was, unfortunately, no competition to the pancakes and syrup.
“Just texturally, there’s just so much more going on for it, you know?” he admitted as he tucked into the heap of pancakes.
Gosling’s fun food challenge came shortly after he actually revealed his favourite food was actually made by his mother-in-law.
In an earlier interview for Netflix’s Latin America YouTube channel, the star explained: “If I had to eat one dish for the rest of my life, it would be Eva’s mom’s Arroz con leche.”
Gosling’s wife, Hollywood actor Eva Mendes, is originally from Cuba. Arroz con Leche is a classic Latin American dessert that commonly includes rice, milk and cinnamon.
“It’s like an angel is crying on your tongue,” he added about the tasty pudding.
