During tonight's episode (July 19) of The One Show, Ryan Gosling revealed his support for Ncuti Gatwa, who was recently cast to play the next Doctor in the Doctor Who series.
"Ncuti, I am such a big fan. He's the coolest and him playing the Doctor is the most exciting thing that's happening right now. So I am here for it." Gosling shared. It seems that it isn't just the UK celebrating Ncuti's new role - famous fans across the world are joining in.
Both Ncuti and Ryan are working on Greta Gerwig 's new Barbie film, where they are portraying different versions of Ken. Ryan first showed his support for his co-star when he was pictured sporting a T-shirt with Ncuti as the Doctor.
Ncuti shared the image on his social media when it first went viral, captioning it "Dolls supporting Doctors", and "As if I couldn't love him anymore." Host Roman Kemp also mentioned the picture during the show saying "we saw your picture earlier".
Gatwa, known for Netflix's Sex Education, is the first person of colour to lead the BBC series and it's predicted to air in 2023. Showrunner Russell T Davies will also be returning for the new series.
The new Barbie film, also starring Margot Robbie and Emma Mackey (another Sex Education star), will also land in cinemas in 2023. The film is already a big talking point on social media.
