Ryan Gosling pokes fun at viral Barbie photo as he thanks partner for being 'supportive'

Ryan Gosling has poked fun at the viral picture of him as Ken in the new Barbie movie.

The Hollywood star will play the main character in the upcoming movie - which sees Margot Robbie portray the titular character - and he has now responded to the viral photo of him dressed as his character in bright neon rollerblades and a matching outfit as he filmed scenes for the film with his co-star on the beach.

During his appearance on The One Show, Ryan joked about his new look - and how the pictures had gone viral across the internet, with his partner Eva Mendes even issuing her opinion on the new snaps.

Speaking on the BBC show today, host Roman Kemp asked Ryan about his role as Ken in the Barbie movie - and if he expected the photo of him filming as his character to go viral.

"My question is, did you ever think a photo of you in fluorescent rollerblades would become the biggest picture on the planet?" Roman asked, as Ryan paused for a moment before adding: "No."

Fellow host Alex Scott added: "Not many people can pull that off. What did your partner Eva think of the look?"

Ryan then insisted she had been very supportive of his "Ken-ergy".

He added: "She's been very supportive. She's supported my Ken-ergy. She started a hashtag That's My Ken, which meant a lot to me."

Meanwhile, Ryan recently joked that Ken was going to be broke in the upcoming movie.

The actor made a joke about the recent viral photos (mirror.co.uk)

"That Ken life is even harder than the Gray Man life, I think. Ken's got no money, he's got no job, he's got no car, he's got no house. He's going through some stuff," he told Entertainment Tonight.

The movie will also star the likes of Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, America Ferrara, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Will Ferrell, Ncuti Gatwa and Emerald Fennell.

He teased: "It's not what you think it is unless it is. And then you know what it is, but I don't think that's what you think it is. Wait, what are we talking about?"
