Ryan Coogler is set to make a highly-anticipated return to movie theaters with a new project scheduled for release on March 7, 2025. The film, which remains untitled, will feature the talented Michael B. Jordan in a leading role and will be presented in Imax format, promising an immersive cinematic experience for audiences.
Known for his ability to create impactful and memorable films, Coogler is producing the project through Proximity Media alongside Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. The team also includes acclaimed composer Ludwig Göransson, who will serve as an executive producer, along with Rebecca Cho and Will Greenfield. Göransson, a frequent collaborator of Coogler, has previously received critical acclaim for his work on projects like 'Black Panther' and 'Oppenheimer'.
Warner Bros. secured the rights to the film following a competitive bidding process in February, reaching a unique agreement that will eventually grant Coogler certain rights to the project. The production is expected to commence this spring in New Orleans, adding to the anticipation surrounding the upcoming release.
Coogler's rise to prominence in Hollywood began with the success of 'Creed' in 2015, followed by the groundbreaking 'Black Panther' in 2018. His directorial prowess has solidified his position as one of the industry's most sought-after talents, with his latest project, 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever', further showcasing his storytelling abilities.
The upcoming collaboration between Coogler and Jordan marks another chapter in their successful partnership, which began with the indie hit 'Fruitvale Station'. Jordan's consistent presence in Coogler's films underscores the strength of their creative synergy and the anticipation for their latest project.
