Ruud van Nistelrooy drops Jarrad Branthwaite hint as Everton linked with free transfer

As the Blues prepare for Monday's Merseyside Derby, here are your Everton morning headlines on Friday, February 10.

Ruud van Nistelrooy drops Jarrad Branthwaite transfer hint amid Everton exit rumours

Rudd van Nistelrooy is grateful to have Jarrad Branthwaite at PSV Eindhoven this season, so much so that he'd like to keep the Everton defender a while longer.

The 20-year-old has spent the season on loan in the Dutch Eredivisie and has made 20 appearances for Eindhoven, finding the net three times. Branthwaite's loan deal runs until the end of the season, while his contract at Goodison Park runs until 2025, but PSV boss Van Nistelrooy is clear on how he would like to see the situation develop.

Speaking to ESPN on Wednesday, after PSV's 3-1 KNVB Beker cup victory against FC Emmen, Van Nistelrooy said: “We would like [to keep him beyond this season]. He is a great talent. Everton's pursuit of players that can improve their squad will have to resume in the summer, but they could potentially grab themselves a bargain courtesy of the Bundesliga.

That's because Eintracht Frankfurt attacking midfielder Daichi Kamada is believed to be running down his current contract, according to fresh reports.

With 13 goals and five assists in 27 matches this season, he's certainly one of the German club's star performers, but Sport1 claims that the Japanese international is being watched by the Blues as well as Tottenham Hotspur.

Frankfurt director Markus Krosche admitted to Sky Germany recently that Kamada's future would be settled one way or the other over 'the next few weeks'.

But Sport1’s Christopher Michel says he has no intention of extending a contract beyond the end of the season. The 26-year-old has been with Frankfurt since 2017 but looks set to try a new challenge.

According to German outlet BILD, Everton, Tottenham and Bayern Munich are all interested in Kamada and his developing situation.
