Manchester United fans couldn’t quite believe the difference from their side as they took control of their clash at Brentford.
The visitors had been second best for the majority of the first half in west London, with David de Gea keeping the deadlock intact as he proved to be a one-man wall for United.
But Ralf Rangnick’s side came out a different beast after the break as they hit their hosts with a quick-fire double to take control of proceedings.
Anthony Elanga put United ahead as he headed home coolly after latching onto Fred’s superb ball into the penalty area, before Mason Greenwood put the visitors in control just after the hour mark.
Cristiano Ronaldo chested the ball into the path of Bruno Fernandes, who charged his way towards goal before squaring towards Greenwood for the simplest of tap-ins.
And with just under 15 minutes remaining, United all-but wrapped up their three points as Marcus Rashford made it 3-0 with with a brilliant finish, with Brentford pulling one back late on.
Nevertheless, supporters couldn’t quite believe they were watching the same side after United’s lacklustre first-half showing.
The second half performance certainly came as a welcome relief to supporters, with some fearing the worst when the first half appeared to follow the same pattern as recent lacklustre performances.
The victory though will give United a much-needed boost in their quest to reach the Premier League's top four, having lost ground in recent weeks.
