Crooks have left a trail of destruction after targeting fruit machines in a break-in at an Ayrshire pub.
The Red Lion in Prestwick was left counting the cost after their fruit machines were smashed up during an incident over the weekend.
Shocking pictures from the break-in emerged on social media following the break-in which is understood to have taken place at some point on Friday night.
Stunned bosses shared images of the scene which showed windows at the popular watering hole completely shattered with broken glass sprawled across the pub floor.
Pictures also show the fruit machines of the pub left smashed with front facings completely hanging off the games equipment.
The pub was forced to close until midday to allow a tidy up of the premises.
Gutted bosses took to Facebook to tell customers of the break-in as they appealed for help to repair the shattered windows.
A spokesperson for the Red Lion said on Saturday morning: "We were broken into last night.
"Hope they enjoy their ill gotten gains.
"We’ll be open for midday but we can’t open for breakfast.
"If any local window company is able to fix this for us ASAP we’d love you forever."
Cops have launched a probe into the break-in after being alerted on Saturday around 10am.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a break-in at licensed premises at Prestwick Cross shortly after 10am on Saturday, February 25.
“The incident happened sometime over the previous night and enquiries are ongoing.”
