Ruth Langsford 'insulted' as This Morning guest compares her to a Percy Pig

Ruth Langsford accused Alice Beer of "insulting" her during Monday's episode of This Morning.

The 62-year-old made a welcome return to the ITV daytime show as she hosted the programme alongside her good friend Rylan Clark.

Loose Women panellist Ruth looked stunning a bright pink suit which she teamed with a light pink vest and a bouncy blowdry.

"I've gone a bit Barbie today," Ruth said at the beginning of the show, referring to her colourful attire.

However, This Morning guest Alice Beer had other ideas and compared Ruth to a very well-known sweet treat.

As This Morning returned from an advert break, Ruth announced: "Alice Beer just said I look like a Percy Pig!"

As Rylan and Alice burst out laughing, Ruth continued: "Well I don't need to come here to be insulted..."

Alice quickly tried to redeem herself and said: "One of my very favourite things in the whole world may I say!"

"What a claw back!" Rylan commented as Ruth added: "Well saved!"

Rylan then informed the viewers of what was coming up next and said: "While these two have it out, welcome back..."

Ruth then made a dig and announced: "First though, the reason Alice is here - apart from insulting me - the new school year is just around the corner..."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
