Russian strike kills one in Odesa as Ukraine's drones hit deep inside Russia

Russia carried out a missile strike on the Ukrainian port city of Odesa on Saturday, hitting port infrastructure and a cargo vessel sailing under the Antigua and Barbuda flag. The attack killed one person and injured three others, according to Odesa regional governor Oleh Kiper.

Kiper said the strike damaged several port facilities, including buildings, storage tanks and warehouses.

The attack came as Ukraine launched another wave of long-range drone strikes inside Russia, targeting logistics and energy infrastructure linked to Moscow's military operations.

Russian officials said the overnight drone attacks killed seven people and injured 51 others across several regions.

One of the deadliest strikes hit a Wildberries warehouse in Kotovsk in the Tambov region, around 360 kilometres from the Ukrainian border. Regional governor Yevgeny Pervyshov said seven night-shift workers were killed and 25 others were injured.

Another Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal, east of Moscow, was also struck. Moscow region governor Andrei Vorobyov said 24 people were injured there. Two more people were wounded in the nearby city of Noginsk, where a Ukrainian drone attack sparked a fire at an oil depot. A maternity hospital and a residential building were evacuated as a precaution.

In the city of Vladimir, about 180 kilometres east of Moscow, a drone hit a residential building and started a brief fire. Governor Alexander Avdeyev said there were no casualties.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the country's long-range strikes had hit two major logistics facilities in the Moscow and Tambov regions.

"These facilities were used by the aggressor to supply sanctioned components for the production of drones and navigation equipment," Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.

He added that an oil facility was also struck and said Ukrainian special operations forces had carried out attacks in the Sea of Azov and in Russian-occupied territory.

Russia's Defence Ministry said its air defences intercepted 379 Ukrainian drones overnight over 19 Russian regions, as well as over Crimea, the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.
