Russian state TV guests have hit out at the invasion of Ukraine and risked the wrath of Vladimir Putin by defying him on a popular primetime show.
Thousands of people have been protesting in Russian cities following the invasion of their neighbouring country, with many seeing Ukrainians as their brothers, and authorities have threatened critics of the war with 15 years in jail.
But with state media having backed the Ukrainian invasion the majority of Russians appear to seemingly be in support - and it is Putin's control over journalists that has helped him to rule without any significant opposition.
