Russian forces have shot down their own aircraft as Vladimir Putin’s “personal war” in Ukraine has been hampered by weapon shortages, soldiers refusing to obey orders and even sabotaging their own equipment, says a British spy chief.
Sir Jeremy Fleming, director of Britain’s GCHQ spy listening centre, stressed that it is increasingly clear that the Russian president has “massively misjudged” the situation in Ukraine.
