A Russian with a billion pound fortune that lives in a castle in Scotland has said that Western powers must not be afraid of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Dr Boris Mints, who was originally born in Moldova but rose to prominence after the fall of the Soviet Union, said that the Russian president is morphing into a modern day Hitler.

The billionaire is understood to have previously been a key Putin ally but he has described the war in Ukraine as “the most tragic event of the 21st century.”
