A Ukrainian aircraft, which was on its way from Russia, has been spotted flying over the East Midlands.
Having travelled from a city in the south of Russia, the Antonov AN-124 was spotted in Derbyshire.
The plane was seen in Belper as the flight descended in the skies towards East Midlands Airport, reports Derbyshire Live.
The aircraft was reportedly spotted at around 8.15am on the morning of Tuesday, February 22.
FlightRadar24 confirmed the flight path of the plane passed through Russia, Finland and Sweden, before crossing over Sheffield and landing at East Midland Airport, in Castle Donington.
The plane was in the air for almost eight hours after leaving Novosibirsk at 7.05am local time.
The plane landed at East Midlands Airport at 8.28am UK time.
The same plane was currently en route back to Russia, this time heading to the city of Kazan, on Wednesday afternoon (February 23).
The aircraft being used is an Antonov An-124 plane, one of the largest aircrafts in the world, specifically designed for carrying heavy cargo or loads.
According to the Air Charter Service, the plane has a large cargo capacity, and ramps designed specifically for loading heavy equipment.
Design of this aircraft can be dated back to the Soviet Union in the 1970s, before first entering service in 1985 when President Gorbachev was in power in the USSR.
