Russia has completed testing of its hypersonic Zircon cruise missile and will deploy it before the end of the year, military sources say.
Alexander Moiseyev, commander of the Northern Fleet, said the Admiral Golovko frigate would become the first to be armed full-time with the Zircon, TASS news agency reported.
President Vladimir Putin has described the Zircon as part of a new generation of unrivalled arms systems, travelling at nine times the speed of sound.
Russia has suffered heavy losses during its three-month war in Ukraine, but has continued to stage high-profile tests of its newest missiles.
The defence ministry said last week it had successfully test-fired a Zircon cruise missile from a vessel in the Barents Sea to a target some 1,000 km (625 miles) away in the White Sea.
It comes after Putin's favourite state TV pundits issued a series of threats against the US - claiming the Kremlin could raze the east and west coasts with four of its Sarmat II ICBMs.
Hosts on the propaganda mouthpiece channel, Rossiya 1, boasted of the country's military prowess before branding all Ukrainians "incurable" yesterday.
Guest Alexie Zhuravlev discussed the state of the war with fellow lawmaker Yevgeny Popov, who hosts the popular show.
Popov said just two of Russia's Sarmat missiles - know as the "Satan 2" in the West - could destroy the entire east coast.
He added the Kremlin could destroy the west coast with another pair of missiles.
He said: "Four missiles and there'll be nothing left.
"They think the mushroom cloud will be taller than a high rise. That mushroom cloud will be visible from Mexico" said Zhuravlev.
Many of the veiled and overt threats from Russian state pundits and politicians have involved the world-ending Satan II missile, which is said to be capable of carrying warheads with 50 times the obliteration power of the Hiroshima bomb.
In another interview, Zhuravlyov, 59, said the Sarmat would reduce the US to "nuclear ashes" if they "think that Russia should not exist".
His comments echoed those of Dmitry Rogozin, a fervent chum of the tyrant, who claimed the missiles could destroy huge sections of the US before turning his sight on the UK and warning the missile could reach British targets in 200 seconds.
Rogozin- who heads Russia's space agency Roscosmos - boasted the hypersonic missile could demolish "half the coast of a continent" while visiting schoolchildren.
Wearing his space agency uniform, he showed them a video of a number of Russia ’s strategic rockets at a “federal education marathon” called New Horizons.
This culminated in him showing them the Sarmat, also known as Satan-2, an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of striking targets at 15,880mph.
"Here you see the test launches of our missiles,” he boasted.
Russia’s new 'big beast' hypersonic Sarmat is a 208-ton 15,880mph intercontinental ballistic missile.
Putin has said the weapon is “unstoppable” by the West with “no analogues…in the world for a long time to come”.
It is due to be deployed this year.
Recently warmonger TV anchor Dmitry Kiselyov, 68, told his Russian TV audience that Britain should be flooded twice with Putin’s most advanced nuclear weapons.
He proposed use of Satan-2 to wipe England from the map.
