Reports from Ukrainian officials indicate that Russia has initiated a significant missile and drone assault on Ukraine's energy facilities, raising concerns about the potential devastation of the country's power generation capabilities ahead of winter.

The Energy Minister shared on social media that attacks on energy sites are occurring across Ukraine, leading to widespread emergency power outages. Explosions have been witnessed in various cities including Kyiv, Kharkiv, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi, Lutsk, and others in central and western Ukraine.

According to Ukraine's presidential office, Russia has reportedly amassed missiles to target Ukrainian infrastructure, particularly aiming to disrupt civilian life during the colder months. The post also mentioned alleged assistance from allies, including North Korea.

One of the strikes was reported in the northern Volyn region, resulting in limited power supply in the area, as confirmed by the regional military authorities.
