Russia has increased the number of troops positioned near its border with Ukraine amid mounting fears that it could launch an invasion.

The Kremlin on Tuesday confirmed that soldiers would be transferred from the country’s far east to Belarus for major war games as it seeks to beef up its military presence in the region.
