Rupert Lowe accused of having a ‘grudge’ in tense BBC interview

  • Rupert Lowe, leader of Restore Britain , repeatedly refused to state whether he believes King Charles is a “white Briton” during a tense BBC Radio 4 interview.
  • The questioning by presenter Nick Robinson was based on a report, quoted by Lowe, which defines a “white Briton” as someone with both parents born in the UK, a definition that would exclude King Charles.
  • Lowe accused the BBC of “ whitewashing ” and promoting “DEI” (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), further stating he would defund the broadcaster if his party came to power.
  • Nick Robinson countered Lowe by describing him as “a man with money and a grudge and a social media account who airs his prejudices on X,” highlighting his support from Elon Musk .
  • The interview follows recent attempts by Nigel Farage to discuss a potential pact between Reform UK and Restore Britain, despite Lowe having acrimoniously left Farage’s party in March 2025.
