An adorable young cow has been caught on camera waiting for the ‘next train to Cowdenbeef’ at a Scots station.
The mischievous beast made its way onto the platform at Pollokshaws West Station in Glasgow late on Monday evening.
CCTV operators were left scratching their heads after the clever animal even managed to seek refuge in the outdoor waiting room shelter.
Sharing footage of the cow, ScotRail joked: “Just waiting on the next train to Cowdenbeef...
“The CCTV team providing the goods this evening! P.S is that not the cutest cow you've ever seen?”
They later added: “Update on the coo: A few of you have asked if the wee MooMoo is alright.
“Here's what Clare from our CCTV team replied when I asked... ‘He came in, ate some plants, had a wee wander, licked his reflection in the shelter and made his way back to the field’.”
Network Rail staff were sent to the scene and confirmed they had secured a fence that had let the escape artist free.
Commuters were left in hysterics and quick to suggest alternative destinations that the young creature may have had in mind.
Jillian Shields wrote: “Was he heading to Haymarket?”
Karen Willey said: “Or Calfin?”
Another user suggested the cow was off to “Edinburger” while Rob Lyons added: “Should be a cheap journey, calf fare.”
A number of animals have been spotted on the tracks and at stations across the country in recent years including a massive bull and a runaway monkey at Cambuslang.
