A rugby player's life was saved by quick-thinking clubmates after he suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch. Steff Howells was unconscious and received CPR for a total of 17 minutes after his heart stopped on the rugby field in October 2022.
The 27-year-old rugby player has described how that Saturday morning was like any other. He picked up a coffee with a friend and went to play rugby on Pontcanna Fields in Cardiff.
"Next thing I know, I'm waking up a few days later at the University Hospital of Wales with no recollection of what happened," Steff said. He is sharing his story this Men's Health Week to encourage people to learn CPR.
