'Rude' restaurant Karen's Diner coming to Glasgow next month for unique pop-up

A brand new restaurant pop-up where the customer will definitely not always be right – in fact, where they are more likely to get verbally abused – is coming to Glasgow.

The Karen's Diner restaurant chain, which regularly goes viral for its rude servers who purposely deliver terrible service to their tables, moan about their customers and ignore orders and requests, is heading to Shawlands next month as part of a new tour.

The novelty brand, which originated in Australia, regularly features on TikTok and Youtube clips, where unsuspecting customers brought by friends and family in the know, film their reactions as they are verbally abused or intentionally ignored by the staff.

Named for the internet term referring to a particular type of person perceived as being excessively demanding and entitled, the firm has restaurants in England but is bringing its unique brand of hilarious entertainment to a new audience in Scotland with a fun tour.

People wanting to enjoy the unique customer experience can head along to the Corona Bar and Grill in Shawlands in February, with tickets for the event on sale now from the Explore Hidden website.

When Karen's Diner is coming to Glasgow: February 24 to February 26

Where: Corona Bar and Grill, Kilmarnock Road, Shawlands

How to get tickets: With prices starting from £40 per person, you can book from the Explore Hidden website.

What you get: A 2-course meal and 3 drinks tokens.

Posting about the event, the Karen's Diner team wrote: "We're coming to town on tour and well if y'all show up in force we'll either come as a longer term pop up or simply just stay put for a while until we've insulted everyone in YOUR CITY.

"At our pop-up Karen's you will be greeted and waited upon by rude waiters who in return are expecting you to give it full Karen. A place where you can complain until the cows come home because we literally don't care.

"You can expect good food, good fun and a dining experience like you've never had before. Let us know if it's your birthday, if your name is Karen and for the love of Karen don't ask to speak to the manager...."
