Ruben Neves is reportedly set to choose a move to Barcelona over Manchester United this summer.
Neves has been linked with a move away from Wolves at the end of the season, with United having been touted as a possible destination. Speculation regarding a move to the Reds increased after the midfielder impressed during his side’s 1-0 win at Old Trafford back in January.
United are eager to make additions to their midfield during the transfer window, with the club having already made efforts in their pursuits of Frenkie de Jong and Kalvin Phillips. Neves though looks as though he could be out of the equation.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona are close to agreeing a deal with Wolves to take Neves to the Nou Camp. The player’s agent Jorge Mendes is said to be playing a big role in the move, and is trying to negotiate a reduced fee.
Neves was seen tearfully waving at the Molineux crowd following Wolves’ final home game of the season against Norwich on Sunday, fuelling speculation that he will be departing the club in the summer. The 25-year-old still has two years remaining on his current deal, with Wolves potentially looking to cash in while they can.
Elsewhere, Lazio are said to have contacted Nemanja Matic over a possible move to Italy. The midfielder has already confirmed he will be leaving United at the end of the season, cutting his stay at Old Trafford short by a year.
The 33-year-old has already been touted for a move to Serie A, with Juventus and Roma also being linked with his services. Reports in Italy though claim Lazio are looking to gain some ground on their rivals.
CalciomercatoTV (via The Laziali) have suggested Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri has made contact with Matic, with a view to potentially bringing the Serb to the Roman club during the summer. Both Juve and Roma are also said to have made an approach, with a move to the latter presenting an opportunity for Matic to reunite with Jose Mourinho.
