Naturally, the Corden story made headlines all around the UK - including on the BBC, which is where Joe had an issue.
He explained to listeners: "‘There was a big topic on BBC Radio 4 this morning and they went on as if they were announcing the end of the world.
"They had a major piece on the Today programme about the fact that the Late Late Show, which has been there for about two years compared to our 60 years. It’s not live like the Late late Show here, it’s still the longest running chat show."
In reality, the US talk show first aired in 1995 - but Joe may have been referring to Corden being the presenter, which has only been the case since 2015.
He continued: "They were into a big song and dance because whatshisname James Corden is giving up in a year’s time. He made this speech where “this has been the hardest decision of my life”. Talk about being tone deaf."
"The hardest decision of my life, go and live in Ukraine for a few days James Corden and you’ll realise what’s hard."
Corden's decision to move home has fuelled speculation that he will once again team up with Ruth Jones to bring back Gavin and Stacey, which ended in 2010.
