RTE Livelive listeners heard how a Dublin woman was proposed to by her partner that she met on a Nitelink.
The couple from Dublin had a gorgeously romantic proposal atop Nenagh Castle with the moment being snapped by Tipperary man and tour guide Kevin Whelan.
Kevin went out of his way to find the couple after their encounter by ringing Joe Duffy on Liveline on Thursday, explaining to the radio host that the pair had "mild Dublin accents".
Explaining what happened, he said: "It got so much publicity and people inquiring about it because it’s a good news story."
Soon after, the bride to be in question, Pamela Doyle, got in contact with the show.
She told Joe that she, her soon to be husband and their kids were "just doing a few touristy things" while in Tipperary with Nenagh Castle being one of the attractions they visited.
After climbing the 101 steps to the top of the castle, Pamela's partner Ciaran decided it was time to get down on one knee and propose.
Telling the story of their relationship to Joe, Pamela revealed that she and Ciaran met 16 years ago on the Nitelink in Dublin on the way home from a house party.
"This is 1 o'clock in the morning on a bus," Joe joked.
Pamela added: "The girl I was with, my friend, she knew him.
"It was random love at first sight, I'm not going to lie."
She also revealed how the proposal unfolded: "We had told our daughter the night before that we were going to climb up Nenagh Castle.
"We were just having a look out the windows and taking a few photos and I said that we needed to get a picture of the four of us. I just turned around and he was down on one knee with the ring."
She then revealed that their daughter was "down the stairs like a light" to tell tour guide Kevin about the proposal.
Kevin joined the conversation again, telling Pamela: "There’s an invitation from Nenagh Castle and North Tipperary County Council for Pamela and Ciaran and the lads to attend our St Patrick’s Day festival on the 17th of March."
