The RTE Late Late Show Valentine’s Special always has a mixed bag of reactions from viewers, as some adore its sweetness - while others find it cringy.
This year was no different, with many taking to social media to let their thoughts be known on Friday night’s episode.
Host Ryan Tubridy dusted off Cupid’s bow and arrow and set his target on an audience of over 200 singletons on a quest to find love.

He was also joined by a star-studded line-up of guests including Maura Higgins, Kerry Katona and Alison Spittle.
While one person described it as “all the cringe”, and another wrote, “Thoughts and prayers for tourists in hotel rooms around the country, flicking through channels and stumbling across this. No one needs to know we are like this”, viewers were in agreement one moment in particular stood out.

"I love you Vera and thanks so much for putting up with me for the last 60 years," said John.
His wife replied: “Thank you very much for all your love and kindness and support over the past 57 years. You are truly the wind beneath my wings.”
Ryan then also surprised Vera and John with a second honeymoon to the US which will see them visit Vermont and New York as a special gift from the show.
Viewers were as smitten with John and Vera as they are with each other, having an emotional outpouring of support for the couple on social media.
One person wrote: “The winning couple on the @RTELateLateShow are so dotey I can’t cope. There’s couple goals for everyone right there! G’wan John and Vera”
Another said: “Beautiful end to the show John and Vera.”
A third joked: “I'm not crying. I was simply peeling onions outside while it was raining.”
