RTE Kin returned with its second episode tonight and fans were left terrified of one of the series' characters.
In the second episode, all hell broke loose with the unexpected arrival back home of Francis Magee’s Bren Kinsella. While Viking welcomed him with open arms, the rest of the family were not so pleased - most of all Amanda, whose leadership was threatened by his presence.
Bren was the main topic of discussion after tonight’s episode as nearly every online post about the show was about how terrifying he was. Fans also praised the rising quality of the show, saying it is “miles better than last season” and “already can tell there is a bigger budget and the camera is no longer shaky”.

Viewers described Bren Kinsella as “a superb character”, even though he was a “scary, scary madman”. One fan of the show wrote on Twitter: “Not loving the way this storyline with Bren is going. Very dark and sinister.”
Another one said: “Jayzus, I wouldn’t want to bump into yer man Bren in a bright alley, never mind a dark alley.” Meanwhile, a third viewer wrote: “Bren needs to go back to prison, or in the ground, whichever suits.”
Clare Dunne’s Amanda Kinsella was also applauded, with fans saying: “It's so great to have a female take the lead and not just be a ‘turn a blind eye and spend the cash’ side character.” Fans also gushed over Frank Kinsella, played by Love/Hate and Game of Thrones star Aidan Gillen. One of them said: “I don’t care what happens, just don’t kill off my boy Frank.”
Kin’s second season has been getting lots of recognition, and fans described it tonight as an “absolutely class programme”. They wrote that the new episode “didn’t disappoint” and that “season two is looking good”. One viewer wrote: “Loving it! Great performances! Great characters and gritty Irish drama at its finest! Long may it continue.”
The returning cast for season two includes Charlie Cox as Michael, Clare Dunne as Amanda, Aidan Gillen as Frank, Sam Keeley as Viking, Emmett J. Scanlan as Jimmy, Maria Doyle Kennedy as Birdy, and Yasmin Seky as Nikita.
Kin will return to RTE One next Sunday at 9.30pm.
