RTE forced to apologise for 'offence caused' during coverage of Punchestown Festival

RTE were forced to apologise for offence caused during their coverage of the Punchestown racing festival.

After Bialystok's victory in the Killashee Hotel Handicap Hurdle, RTE caught up with racing manager Joe Chambers to chat about the big win.

When the cameras cut back to the RTE panel, presenter Hugh Cahill promptly apologised for any offence caused before cracking a joke about himself being offended about something else.

While not quite clear what it was he was apologising for, microphone's may have picked up some unsavoury language in the background of the interview.

Regardless, for Chambers and members of Rich Ricci's horsing empire, they'll be thrilled for the big win.
