RTE First Dates viewers united in shock after ultimate stereotype broken on Thursday's show

RTE First Dates viewers were all saying the same thing about Thursday night's show.

There were ups and downs among the four couples, giving viewers plenty to talk about.

But one thing shocked fans most of all- witnessing a Cavan man pay for the meal.

Masters student Caoimhe and hotel receptionist John immediately hit it off and gave each other a perfect 10.

And the date ended perfectly, with Cavan man John paying the bill.

One viewer said: "Don't ever again say Cavan people are tight with money because we just witnessed a Cavan man paying for a meal for two on First Dates Ireland."

Another wrote: "Breaking : Cavan man just paid for dinner on First Dates Ireland."

A third said: "There's a Cavan man on national TV paying for a meal for 2 people, this will be on Reeling In The Years."

Another couple was two Dubliners who had viewers "obsessed".

Lisa and Aidan got on like a house on fire and both bond over their love of fitness.

The pair left smiling and both said they wanted to see each other again.

Dubliner Chris and Wexford woman Aine were another success on tonight's show.

Conversation flowed well between the couple and a second date is on the cards.

Unfortunately, love was not in the air for everyone as Mayo man James and Westmeath Native Dee had a rocky time.

The date was described as awkward, with one viewer commenting "even the wee man at reception looks bored."

Despite the awkwardness, the pair seem to be open to a non-romantic relationship.
