Legendary RTE commentator George Hamilton says Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine is not being done in the Russian people's name.
The broadcaster has visited Russia on numerous occasions to commentate on sporting events, including the 2018 World Cup, and has had plenty of dealings with people in the country.
He believes the Russian people are opposed to the invasion of Ukraine, which continued overnight with heavy bombing in Kharkiv and Kyiv and the city of Kherson reportedly falling to the invading forces.
